Privacy Policy.

We collect the minimum needed to schedule, deliver, and stand behind your Minnesota inspection — and nothing we'd be embarrassed to explain to a homeowner over the kitchen table.

What we collect

When you book or request a quote, we collect the booking form fields you submit — typically your name, email, phone, property address, package selection, and any notes you choose to add. Your real estate agent's name and email if you provide it. We also collect basic technical data automatically: your IP address, browser type, referring page, and cookies (see below) to keep the site working and to understand how visitors use it.

If you call or email us, the contents of that communication are stored alongside your inspection record so the next person you speak with isn't starting from scratch.

How we use it

  • Scheduling — confirming, rescheduling, and routing your inspection
  • Delivery — emailing your HD video link and PDF report
  • Agent communications — coordinating with your buyer's agent if you authorize it
  • Operations — invoicing, follow-up, warranty questions, report revisions
  • Aggregate analytics — improving the site, never tied to your identity

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with marketing partners. We do not run behavioral retargeting ads. Full stop.

Third parties we rely on

  • InspectorData platform — our underlying inspection management system. Booking data, reports, and inspection history live here. Operated by the same team as SewerScopeInspectionMN.
  • Google Analytics — anonymized traffic and behavior data with IP-anonymization enabled. Used to improve pages, not to track individuals.

Data retention

Inspection records (reports, video, findings, invoices) are retained for seven years from the date of inspection. This matches typical Minnesota statute-of-repose windows and ensures we can answer warranty or follow-up questions years after closing. Cookies are retained for up to 24 months unless you clear them sooner.

Minnesota residents' rights

If you are a Minnesota resident, you may at any time request to see what we have on file about you, correct it if it's wrong, or request deletion (subject to the seven-year retention window for completed inspection records). Email privacy@sewerscopeinspectionmn.com and we'll respond within 30 days.

Cookies

We use two categories: necessary cookies that keep the site working (session, security, form state) and analytics cookies (Google Analytics). We do not use advertising or behavioral retargeting cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser; the site will still function for booking and reading reports.

We collect the minimum needed to schedule, deliver, and stand behind your inspection. We do not sell data. We do not retarget. We do not share with marketers.

Children

The site is intended for adults purchasing or selling real estate. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

Security

Data in transit is TLS-encrypted. Stored data lives in access-controlled cloud infrastructure. Only inspection staff and platform engineers can access individual records.

Changes

If we materially change this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date and, if changes are significant, email anyone with an active inspection record. Continued use of the site after changes implies acceptance.
